I hung on to my marriage longer than I should have for the sake of my two children. No one wants their family to go through a divorce, especially their young, innocent children.

I had been unhappy for some time but I stuck it out for my kids. It wasn’t until my oldest made a comment how I seemed to ‘never have fun anymore’ when I realized my unhappiness was being projected on my kids.

While I’m not saying one should go through with a divorce, it is important to remember that you have to take care of ‘you’ first to be able to provide the best ‘you’ to everyone else, especially your children. You can’t fill from an empty cup! – Jan, OH
